Flashing on Flickr

I have recently come to discover that Flickr is such a great place to house and showcase all your pictures, simply because they are all kept in hi res format and there is a really HUGE storage space too! The best part is you also get to connect with others who love photography and see their work being displayed in full glory! I must say I am just a novice photographer but no worries, I am learning as I go along.

I am really loving FLICKR. Check out mine here.

Have a fantastic weekend ahead!

Contrasting Elements

I now know very well that I am a person of mixed elements. I love the clashing of things and the contrasting notion of different elements together - I love the fact that two or even a few of opposing elements can co-exist and still create something new and refreshing - the old and the new, the modern and the classic, the smooth and the textured, the bright and darkness, the wide open space versus the small little creative space of existence, the structured versus the free flow of forms and lines. I guess I want it all. I love to know that I have the choice to choose, or to be different. I wish to see creativity comes to life. Life is so much more than just exclusively black or white xoxo

Being Oneself

Been trying to figure out quite a few things lately. The choices that have been made and will be making. Are these the wise ones? Once the journey has begun, it's a continuous road ahead. Is this my heart's desire or is this something I have to do? Is it about finding or creating? For me, it's both. Wishing myself a fruitful weekend xoxo

Inspiration {Colours of Dreams}

Strokes of red pinch and paint my runaway mind to a vast sea of blue, marine, purple shades of imagination. Too wild to be contained, too docile to be ignored. I am only but a dreamer of hope, a sensible mind of a relentless occupant of this world, waiting to discover all the wonders this world could offer. Yet, the only discovery one could possibly hope to feel and conquer is the greatest potential within oneself. Colours ignite such curiosity - orange, yellow, green, indigo, all endless possibilities, leads to countless frames of pictures imprinted in the mind. Some may stay longer, others may fade as time goes by. Most of all, this vignette of colours soaks up the emotional canvas that drives our little moments of hope, love, despair, anxiety, enthusiasm, sadness, and many more. But colours will always uplift one's spirits and feelings. Life will definitely be more beautiful with COLOURS. Let's paint our mind with colours that could only help to elevate us to a better space and a better tomorrow xoxo

Going Places

It's been a while since I last travelled to a place far beyond my own. I wish to see more, to listen more, to hear more, to smell more, to taste more, to learn more, to understand more, to feel and to embrace more of what there is for me now, I hope the journey to venture far far away will eventually arrive. I will need to work towards that. I want to be somewhere else...really really do xoxo

Inspiration: {All The Space and Sunshine}

Have you ever wondered what you would do if you have all the space in the world? Would we be filling it up with things we love, surround it with memories and favourites, or would we just leave the space to speak for itself, and let it just interact with the outer even more bigger space, the nature itself? I often wonder what my space would look like, if I ever had this big of a space...would I put in a grand piano and play till my heart's content, as and when I feel like it, or would I stack all my favourite magazines up and fill the air with thoughts of sweet dreams? Could it be a space for me and my loved ones to gather together and have a great meal? Maybe it is everything and nothing fancy at all...If only I could have the luxury to have such a space, it need not be huge, but all it needs is to have a character, and to tell a story I wish to tell...wouldn't it be magical? Happy happier Saturday!

Inspiration: {Feeling Like The Wind}

A picture has its wonder of capturing that moment, freeze in time, but for me, most importantly, it has to be able to capture and translate that certain FEELING one wants the viewer to appreciate. I love pictures that tell a great many stories, and the feelings they evoke, the different colours of dreams, it has to leave space for imagination, space for more dreams to be conjured...loving the feeling of being free, as free as the wind blows, love these pictures here xoxo

Inspiration: {Beyond Dreaming}

Capturing that very essence of an object of desire, could not have been possible if not for an important tool - the camera. These are two of my favourite objects of late (the camera aside) is a ring from Topshop. The calling of Sweet Dreams from the pillow menu of Double Tree Hilton KL is the perfect timing for the night. It was never intentional, I was just playing with the possibilities of how image can be captured, eventually manipulated and represented in different ways and manner. For me, it is the fun and thrill of just experimenting. Love to see what more I can do in the future...Loving something can only mean taking it slow and letting it evolve as we go along, and may it present itself the best it could.

Inspiration: {Stripes}

Lines, spaces in between the lines, black and white, or ray of colours, and more lines, across, vertical, upwards and beyond, limitless and bountiful. Love what lines can do in our lives...

Inspiration: Great Discoveries

above via deco8

The rest via Anna Malmberg's photography
Stumbled upon Anna Malmberg's photography through one of my favourite sites, deco8. Lots of lovely posts I absolutely adore on deco8, she has such sense of style and artistic eyes and hands for things and creations in life. I am really in love with some of the shots taken by Anna, a Swedish photographer based in Paris. More of her work can be seen here. Very refreshing indeed. I have come to realize, no matter what you do, in order to be the best, you need to carve a certain character and personality out of the work you do or produce. I guess this is what in film we called the Auteur. You are, ultimately, your own greatest creation. To find your own true voice in life, is the most rewarding part of rediscovering yourself. {I am, still, searching for mine}

Inspiration: The Lightness of Opulence

I have always thought that chandelier is something of a luxury spending, a little OTT to light up a space, and look too lavish. But since I came across these pictures, I had a shift of mindset. Chandelier, if done well, can be very uplifting, it gives the space its richness without being too affluent if they are paired down with a few simple main furniture and fixtures. Of course, it will look fantastic for dinners with family and friends for that special occasion, like Christmas and Chinese New Year. Who wouldn't like all things beautiful in life?

Inspiration: Match Make In Heaven

I woke up the other day noticing a ray of sunlight creeping through the curtains of my room. It reaches for my fashion magazines I bought recently (backdated issues:). Lovely morning indeed {Sunshine On My Fashion Mag} Doesn't it sound like a lyric from a song? xoxo
